This is what it sounds like when you squash two San Franciscans, one balkan-blooded German, two turntables and ridic amounts of booze together into a charming, tiny bar in the heart of Hong Kong, equipped with a dangerously booming sound system, on a packed Saturday night, and make them play whatever the fuck they want to play.
The amount of given fuck from our side about pleasing the crowd by playing hits was shockingly low, yet the level of positive feedback from the audience turned out quite grand! Much to y’all lucky bastards’ delight, we recorded all that shit. Here’s 30 randomly picked minutes from each one of our sets, squeezed into a 90 minute package for the sake of your earholes’ blissfulness. To be continued.

As you might have overheard, the monthly club night I’m running with DJ Enso got awarded as “Hong Kong’s Best New Club Night 2009″ by Timeout magazine recently. At the same time, the venue it’s being run at, VOLAR, has been awarded “Hong Kong’s Best Club 2009″. Nuff reasons to pop some bottles this Friday!
I’ve met Måns Glaeser, one half of Stockholmian producer/DJ duo Savage Skulls, at a show we both played in Brooklyn for Palms Out Sounds a while ago. Today, 2 years later, he’s hooking me up with some very blogworthy, highly banging club tunes of theirs. These guys are most likely to blow the fuck up this year. Remember where you heard it first.
Be on the lookout for their upcoming releases on Mad Decent, Dubsided and Exploited, dropping in 2010.
Learn more about what’s on DJ Enso‘s iPod when he is boarding the MTR to Sha Tin at 8AM. Will he go “big truck” this weekend? What’s Yao‘s preferred shower-music these days? Is Oakland really going superhard about thizz faces and ghostriding whips? Does Kid Fresh secretly listen to Turkish folk music from the 70s under the influence of full moon while sipping on cheap, German wine? What will he have for breakfast tomorrow? Does it never snow in the jungle? Why can’t spiders talk? Do men cheat? Can you pause toast? Do fish really have fingers? Why do molecules diffuse?

As the first full week of the decade is closing, I figured that I haven’t been digging too deep in the dancing-shoes-department lately, so here’s me catching up with some of my recent fave Bri’ish house tunes for all you weekend warriors out there to tear up a club or two tonite. Watch out for these names in 2010.

I’m packing up my belongings, getting ready for relocating to the northern side of Victoria Harbour! Excited! So long glitzy island life, hiya urban country side! A) more space B) lower rent C) more street cred. And still only 10 minutes from the islet. Now take a minute to envy me for my new Kowloon penthouse view.
PS that’s Lion Rock Country Park in the background.
So. After you’ve finished eating my heart out, go peep my future housemate Yao‘s SOLOS podcast, cause bruva’s got MAD soul.
